Thank you for browsing my website. I believe that everyone has the capacity to live with a sense of safety, peace, joy and purpose. However, many people are blocked or hindered from experiencing the full spectrum of their emotions due to emotional difficulties and disorders. My passion is to help people get in touch with the complex emotional processes within themselves and help them to recover their innate emotional potential.

What I Do

As a psychologist in private practice, I work from a humanistic, client-centered and emotion-focused perspective to assist people in understanding and changing their emotional landscape. I facilitate a safe non-judgmental therapeutic space for people to share and explore their most sensitive and difficult issues.

I work with individuals to develop an understanding of their own unique psychology. I take a holistic perspective on mental health and see individuals as psychological, physical and spiritual beings. As such, I aim to help clients develop a sense of integration between mind, body and soul.


My Story


I have been working as a psychologist in private practice for the last 4 years. Before that I was working as a counsellor in the public sector. I completed my Bachelor in Psychological Sciences (with Honours) and Master of Counselling Psychology at La Trobe University in Melbourne. I was first introduced to Emotion Focused Therapy in 2014 and have been immersed in this approach ever since. My training as an Emotion Focused Therapist has come from the Australian Institute of Emotion Focused Therapy (AIEFT - http://www.aieft.org/).

Prior to discovering Emotion Focused Therapy I had been exposed to other therapeutic approaches, primarily those with a Cognitive-Behavioural focus. I found these approaches useful and of benefit to many of my clients. However, some client spoke about deep emotional pain, chronic anxiety and depression, or damaging behavioural patterns that they could not shift or resolve no matter how much they addressed their thoughts and behaviour. Often these clients had experienced months or years of counselling and were looking for something different. This feedback fuelled my search for a therapeutic approach that worked directly with the emotional system. My mission

I work from the perspective that it is our emotions (rather than just our thoughts and behaviour) that determine the quality of our lives. Emotions provide the flavour to life and the energy by which we engage with the world. However, many people seem to be disconnected from their emotions. Without connection to the full-spectrum of our emotions, life can seem flat, dull, and meaningless. My mission is to assist people to reclaim their emotional potential so that they can live more satisfying and meaningful lives.


My clients

I work with adults and adolescents (15+) who struggle with:

  • anxiety or overwhelming emotions

  • depression

  • grief and loss

  • trauma (including abuse in childhood)

  • intimacy and relationships

  • addictive and compulsive behaviour

  • low self-esteem

  • direction and meaning in life

  • chronic pain
